This past year was hard for us all, but we wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the victories in 2020 for homeless pets!
Avery’s Pawsitive Change
Avery is a fourteen year old girl whose mission is to help animal shelters across the country. As she battles cancer, she is taking the time to send gift cards to various shelters to assist with costs such as treats, food or cleaning supplies! Avery helps at her local animal clinic and hopes to one day be a vet tech and work in an animal shelter herself. Thank you for all you do Avery!
If you wish to help Avery on her mission to help animal shelters, you can donate to her Go Fund Me or check out her page: Avery’s Pawsitive Change.
Donations from you
We received so many generous donations from you all, we thank our community for being such amazing supporters. We love reading notes that come with many of the donations we get from you. We especially loved this donation from Evelyn and Robbie. These two chose to donate their holiday allowance to us to help our shelter pets find happy homes, in place of a gift for themselves. They also drew us beautiful photos to help our pets get adopted too!
Visit our donate page to see how you can make a monetary, in-kind or even artistic donation to help save a shelter pet in need today.

Call Me Kat TV Show aims to help rescue cats
Best Friends Animal Society is partnering with Fox entertainment to kick off a new TV series, Call Me Kat. This show aims to help homeless cats by featuring a Cat Café owned by long time Best Friends supporter to bring awareness to rescue cats in need of homes and increase interest in rescue cat adoptions.
Two-thirds of animals that are euthanized in shelters throughout the country are cats, so our friends and partners at Best Friends Animal Society hope to bring awareness to helping community cats, and to increase interest in rescue cat adoptions and spaying and neutering. The show just aired on January 7, 2021 and you can catch it every Thursday at 9/8c p.m.
Dog Bandanas
The residents of Atria Summit Ridge Senior Living here in Reno made and donated some beautiful bandanas for our shelter dogs! They took the time to hand-paint these beautiful dog accessories to give our pups a little love while they wait for their Forever Homes and to help them get adopted! Every pup who received an adorable bandana went home with it when they got adopted.
From our nose to our paws, we just wanted to say thank you for sticking by us and making 2020 a successful year for our shelter pets. Despite all of our obstacles, we were still able to do life-saving work and help more than 14,000 animals this year!
