There are a variety of ways you can help support Nevada Humane Society shelter pets during this challenging time. In addition to monetary donations, we also need help with things like; making face masks to keep our staff & volunteers safe, volunteering to walk dogs or help staff our Caturday Kitten Palooza adoption events and building cat colony shelters. Below you’ll find details on all the fun, creative ways you can help support Nevada Humane Society pets.
Make & Donate Face Masks
In an effort to keep our staff, volunteers & the community safe, we are requiring everyone in our shelter to wear a mask at all times. In an effort to support healthcare professionals we donated all of our surgical masks to Renown. As a result, we now have a great need for cloth face masks. Making and donating cloth masks to Nevada Humane Society ensures that we are able to continue our important life-saving work safely and we greatly appreciate the help.
Share your Happy Tails
We love getting updates from our adopters and fosters on how our shelter pets are doing. These updates are not only special to our team, but often encourage potential adopters and fosters to commit to caring for a shelter pet -when they see how much joy these pets bring to people’s lives they just can’t resist!
Our Happy Tails pages shares tips & ideas on how to you can share Happy Tails of you and your Nevada Humane Society shelter pet and it features some of our favorite, recent Happy Tail photos, videos and stories. This page is intended to be a space where the community can share Happy Tails of how their Furry Soulmates are doing and the adventures they are having together and we are excited to share it with and for you to start sharing your Happy Tails!
We love ALL Happy Tails but if you need ideas, we would love to see you and your Furry Soulmate:
- Out and about at local businesses as they begin to re-open
- On outdoor adventures
- Snuggling at home together
- Just plain having fun!
Send Much Needed Cat & Kitten Food
It is kitten season and because we are starting to receive many, many kittens in need of foster care before they can go to loving homes, we are in need of cat & kitten food to help care for them. If you would like to help the Nevada Humane Society homeless kittens, please consider purchasing cat and kitten food from our Amazon Wish Lists.
Treat Our Team to Lunch
Our dedicated staff has been committed to keeping our shelters open throughout the COVID-19 crisis, ensuring that Northern Nevada’s homeless pets have a safe place to come for care and help finding forever homes. Our team has worked very hard to make sure that we continue our important, life-saving work and we want to do everything we can to support them and keep their spirits up during this challenging time. Many people have reached out to ask us what they can do to thank our team recently, so we can up with a way people can support our hard-working team -by treating them to lunch!
We greatly appreciate the local restaurants that have donated delicious lunches to our hardworking team and encourage the community to support these local businesses!
If you are a restaurant owner who would like to donate lunch to our hard-working team, please contact our HR Director: email@example.com
