Holiday Shopping Guide

Many local businesses support our shelter pets by donating a portion of their profits to our organization. We encourage you to shop at these amazing, small businesses that donate a percentage of their profits to help our shelter pets. This adorable kitten & firefighter calendar is the purrrfect holiday gift for everyone on your list! Our 2023 The Rescuers & The Rescued calendar features members of the Reno Fire Department team and adorable rescue kittens.

These firefighters are all animal lovers who were excited to model alongside our adoptable rescue kittens for this project and it couldn’t have turned out any cuter!

Our friends at Midtown Diamonds have created a custom “Adopt Local” necklace with profits directly benefitting our shelter! These beautiful “Adopt Local” Necklaces are the perfect gift for you or anyone in your life that loves pets. Hand-crafted by a dedicated volunteer, these fantastic ornaments come in a large variety of colors and decorations. Each ornament is hand-embroidered with care by Elspeth and comes in three sizes. This year TinyShiniesStore is dedicating 10% of all proceeds to Nevada Humane Society.

Give the Gift of Good Behavior

Josh Green of BarkSide generously donates his time to help some of the shelter dogs at Nevada Humane Society in the greatest need of training and socialization. Josh has years of experience providing quality canine training and behavior modification and is certified as a Canine Training and Behavior Specialist (CCTBS) and as an Advanced Canine Training Professional (CACTP) through the Animal Behavior Institute of North Carolina. Several days a week, Josh visits our Reno Shelter and works with these dogs so when they are ready to find happy homes of their own, he donates gift certificates for additional training support to their adopters to help ensure they continue doing well in their new homes and their adopters feel supported in continuing their training.
