Make Fun Activities out of Household Items
There are lots of fun ways to turn old things into something new for your pet! If you are looking to recycle some of the materials in your home and make them into something fun for your pup, check out some creative inspiration on how you can have fun & green at the same time!
T-Shirt Tie Toys
Turn your old t-shirt into a fun tug toy! By cutting your old shirts up in to strips, you can braid them tightly together into a long rope that is fun for your dog to get to tug on and play with. You can make these even more fun by adding things like a water bottle or ball to the end wrapped in some fabric!
Water Bottle Treat Dispenser
Turn a plastic water bottle into a fun enrichment acitvity for your dog. You can put holes throughout the bottle and put some of their favorite treats inside. Close the top, and watch them roll it around to dispense the treats!
Sniff to Find!
You can take a box from any recent packing and turn it into a fun treat find for your pup! Crinkle up tissue paper or newspaper and place it in the bottom of the box. Sprinkle treats inside and let your dog sniff to find them!
Treats in a Towel
Grab an old towel and place it on the floor. Put some of your dogs favorite treats in it, and roll it up. Tie it in a knot after rolling all of the treats inside. Let your dog sniff and paw at this to get the treats out! If this version is too advanced to start with, simply lay the treats in the towel and twist it up from the center to make a flatter and simpler version.
