Jasmine and Doodle are a bonded pair that got extremely lucky with their new home. These two small older gals took quite a while to find their forever home, but once they did they have been spoiled ever since! They went through the shelter, as well as a couple foster homes before they landed where they were meant to be. Jasmine and Doodle are the best of friends, which is why they needed to go home together.
They have now settled in to the most amazing family, with parents that take great care of them. The girls spend their days lounging and sleeping, what more could a couple of senior dogs ask for? Their adopters call their new residence a “retirement dream.” They love their naps but especially love their food. Despite how skinny Jasmine appears, she apparently tends to eat more than Doodle!
Besides eating and napping, they also go on outings.
“We occasionally take them on walks, and by “walk” I mean extremely short stroll to the mailbox three houses down. When we do go to the park, the girls have a lovely two-seater stroller that we put them in and do the walking for them until we get to the park so they can sniff around, they love that! As if living the high-life wasn’t enough for the girls, now that we have moved into our new home, they have only upgraded! We live on a third of an acre lot, our backyard is more than enough space they could have asked for and they haven’t even explored most of the front yard, it is so big.” — Jasmine & Doodles’ adopter.
Their parents share that they are spoiled rotten, and they don’t mind it one bit. Jasmine may be fourteen, but she seems to keep up just fine. She trots, skips, sprints around the living room, runs in the grass and is even able to jump up on a block in the backyard. Doodle enjoys the simple things in life: laying in the grass, sniffing about, sunbathing, and of course, begging for food.
Jasmine and Doodle have a travelling bed made of blankets, that follows where they go around the house, courtesy of their parents. They make sure that they are comfortable no matter where they go.
“They have 4 blankets that we bring with us wherever we go, so the girls can lay down and stare at us. Whether in the living room, kitchen, or in my office, we’ll lay the blankets down and then the girls scratch at it for 10 minutes to perfect their new mobile bed. It’s too funny. When it is bedtime, and the girls are already in a rhythm and pattern to sense this, they upgraded from sleeping in a fenced-off den we made in the corner of our kitchen apartment, to now their own room; aka the Laundry room.”
The laundry room is plenty warm and they of course get their blankets in there as well. Doodle and Jasmine have a highly sophisticated filtered water machine, courtesy of their dog mom. They found the two of them an amazing, gentle groomer, that they absolutely love. She gave them each scarfs and they were beyond adorable. Their parents were so determined to make sure that she was a perfect fit, they sat through the first three hour long appointment.
“Jasmine and Doodle have changed our lives for the better and we, my wife and I, would have never guessed that adopting two, old weiner dogs would bring us such joy, but they do. Every day is an adventure with them and we never know what they are going to do next and how much laughter they bring us. We are blessed to have them and are looking forward to taking care of them the rest of their days on this Earth.” — Jasmine & Doodles’ adopter.
