Our little fighter:
Please help support the ongoing care of Digit, a recovering 3-week-old kitten
When Digit arrived at Nevada Humane Society, there was very little chance she’d pull through. She, along with her three other siblings, were days old, covered in horrible wounds and crawling with one of the worst maggot infestations our staff had ever seen.
Digit’s three siblings, unfortunately, did not survive.
Immediately, we bathed Digit, combing maggots and fly eggs from her matted fur, and placed her in an incubator where she could be warm. Already small, skinny and unhealthy, she developed abcesses on her stomach from infection.
Antibiotics — and A LOT of time and energy and love from our foster coordinator Lexy — has brought Digit back from the weak little kitten she was to a happy little 3-week-old.
Care like this requires passionate and knowledgeable staff to ensure that the little kittens are getting exactly what they need to get back to the life they deserve — but it also takes resources. And that takes a community willing to step in and help. It takes you.
