Population & Capacity
As of 7pm Sunday, June 21st, we have 631 animals in our care – 65 less animals from the previous week. We have 38 at our Carson Campus, 276 at our Reno Campus, and 317 in the care of our foster volunteers. The Carson Campus dog kennels are at 26% capacity, and the Reno Campus dog kennels are at 63% capacity.
Intakes
182 animals came into our campuses last week. NHS received 50 Owner/Guardian Surrenders (seven less animals from the previous week), 13 Strays (12 less than the previous week) and 41 Strays too young for adoption (34 less from the previous week). We transferred 51 cats, 18 dogs, and one small animal from our close partners at Washoe County Regional Animal Services. Eight cats were transferred from other partners.

Community Support
Last week we received 31 surrender requests for cats and 73 surrender requests for dogs. The median time between a completed application to surrender appointment last week was five days for cats and five days for dogs. Same day emergency surrender appointments are available every day for situations that require immediate relinquishment.
