A Save of 2023

Lights, Camera, Hollywood

Meet Hollywood. She came to us as a stray with her litter of rambunctious puppies. She, along with her puppies, went into a foster home so she could help care for her puppies while they grew big and strong. They were in foster care for about 2 months. Her 7 puppies found loving homes, and after about a month, Hollywood found hers as well. On 04/22/2023, a young family came to visit Hollywood after seeing her photo online. After meeting Hollywood, a puppy also became available for adoption. The family decided to meet the puppy as well. After meeting the puppy, the two children said to their mom that they knew the puppy would get adopted fast but were unsure how soon Hollywood would find her home. So, the family decided to make Hollywood a part of theirs. Now, going by Holly, here is an update from her family!

“When Holly came home with us, she had been through so much. Brought to an unfamiliar place in the middle of the night, pregnant, and then giving birth to what we imagine were beautiful puppies. We also imagine Holly was an attentive mama to those pups until they were each adopted, only to find herself alone, again, waiting for a family to call her own.My daughter found her online listed as Hollywood, and her heart was set on meeting her!
Although she was a bit timid, Holly’s tail was wagging from the moment we saw her. (And truly, it hasn’t stopped since!) She was incredibly sweet with a wiggle-bottom and tail that just won’t quit! She was terrified of the car for the first 6 weeks, weary to even go near it, but we were patient with her, and took time to allow her to get comfortable and feel safe and secure in knowing that she is truly home. And that if we go somewhere, we will always return home.
She is incredibly cuddly, loving and playful – even tossing toys for herself and pouncing on her treats. If your hands are free, she will do her best to encourage you to place them on her for some head pats, behind-the-ear scratches, and belly rubs. And although she enjoys going for walks or adventuring with us around town or on trails, she also loves to lounge, get cozy and cuddle. Her head will always find a way to find a place to rest on us, nuzzle and cuddle. This is probably why most of the photos I have of her are doing just that! We feel so lucky that this sweet girl is ours.”
Not only did Holly find her fur-ever home, but she went from Shelter to famous. Hollywood got a spot in our Firefighter Kitten Calendar!
