A Pawsome Christmas Transformation

Introducing a pup who never let his challenges dampen his mood. Alfy was surrendered to us in August to find a home that could better address his medical needs. Alfy, like all animals in our care, got checked out by our clinical team. They started him on a hypoallergenic diet, medication, and medicated baths. While we waited for Alfy’s skin to improve, we all got to know his personality. He was an energetic boy who loved people, other dogs, and feline friends. He radiated joy and confidence. His spirits were never discouraged, even with the state of his skin and living in the shelter. After about 2 months of waiting, he began to look as handsome on the outside as he was on the inside. He was finally ready to find his fur-ever home.

After just 7 days of being made available for adoption, Alfy found his home!

Here is an update from his new home.

“Mr. Sweet Face here is my entire heart. He loves food!!! And most importantly, his belly scratches! He gets to go to work with his dad twice a week and loves it! He is the most energetic, intelligent, loving, loud, amazing dog. Although he looks big and scary, he is the most adorable dog.”

We love watching dogs like Alfy shine even through difficult times. We are grateful to be able to provide resources to help dogs like Alfy keep shining.
