Cascades was just a tiny kitten when he came into our care, full of life but struggling with an uncomfortable skin condition called ringworm. The itchy patches and hair loss it caused left him restless and vulnerable, and it meant he would need extra time and resources before he could find a loving home. 

Ringworm is a fungal infection of the skin that is treatable but highly contagious. For cats, it causes stress and discomfort, and treatment takes weeks of medicated baths, oral medication, and close monitoring. While they recover, cats must be housed separately from people and other pets and given extra attention to ensure they remain healthy and enriched. That means kittens like Cascades often wait longer to find homes, and in some shelters, the lack of space and resources can mean heartbreaking outcomes for otherwise healthy pets. 

Because of you, Cascades received the wholehearted, lifesaving care he needed including medicine, comfort, and a safe place to heal. Your support provides the time, staff, and supplies it takes to give vulnerable pets like Cascades the chance they deserve. 

Cascades became the very first kitten of the year to be officially cleared of ringworm. And he’s not alone. He is just one of over 200 kittens treated for ringworm this year, and it’s donors, like you, who made it possible. 

After his long journey to healing, Cascades found his fur-ever family. Today, he’s thriving, living a life filled with happiness from nose to tail.
