After his adoption, Ranger’s new family noticed something wasn’t right. He began limping, and a veterinary evaluation revealed a painful orthopedic condition that would require specialized surgery and a long recovery. The cost and complexity of that care were simply more than his adopter could manage. 

In an incredibly selfless act of love, Ranger’s adopter made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him back to Nevada Humane Society so he could receive the medical care he needed to live without pain.

Because of your generosity, Ranger underwent a specialized TPLO surgery to stabilize his knee and relieve his pain. His recovery wasn’t easy — weeks of strict rest, assisted walks, and careful monitoring tested even his boundless enthusiasm. With the help of an amazing foster family and our dedicated veterinary team, Ranger slowly healed. Your support carried him every step of the way. 

Recovery wasn’t easy for a dog whose excitement couldn’t be contained. Ranger faced weeks of strict rest, assisted walks, and careful monitoring to heal. Thanks to you, and an incredible foster home, his second chance was possible.  

Ranger’s foster family loved his wild and wiggly personality. They said he loved as hard as he played, and his intuitive nature could tell when one of the kids had a tough day. He quickly became part of the family and even bonded with their dogs. When they met another family who had just lost their pup, they knew Ranger could make their hearts whole again.  

With your help, his care included 21 exams with our dedicated team, 370 medications, 2 surgeries, and endless hours of rehab and love. Thanks to you, each one brought him closer to recovery, and his tail wagging happily ever after. 

After all that, Ranger was cleared for adoption! After a tearful, joyful goodbye from his foster family, he was ready to bring all his love to his new family. 

Today, Ranger is pain-free, running, and playing with his new family because you made it possible.
