When Sadie arrived at Nevada Humane Society, she was one of nine puppies surrendered in critical condition. They were weak, dirty, dehydrated, and suffering from Parvovirus, one of the most devastating illnesses we see in puppies. Sadly, one of her siblings had already passed, and several more were gravely suffering despite every medical effort. Once the remaining seven entered care, our team went to work.
Because of you, Sadie wasn’t just another statistic. She was not part of the 90% of puppies who don’t survive Parvovirus without treatment.

“When Sadie and her siblings first came into our care, she was among the most fragile. Despite her condition, she would gently move her ears to listen, showing us she was still present and hopeful. Slowly, I noticed a subtle change as she started to perk up slightly and offered the tiniest tail wags when I entered the room. ” – Sadie’s Foster Mom, Katie
Your support gave Sadie and her siblings a fighting chance. Your generosity made intensive care possible, from lifesaving fluids and anti-nausea medication to B12 injections and probiotics. The litter’s fragile bodies did all they could to fight an often-deadly illness, and they slowly regained strength one day at a time. Against the odds, five of the siblings survived.
Your gift today ensures puppies, like Sadie, receive the critical medical care they desperately need.
After clearing from Parvo, Sadie was still severely underweight and too small for surgery. Thanks to you, she found a loving foster home, and with your support, was given the time and care to fully recover.
“Seeing her shift from a timid, unsure little soul into a vibrant, happy companion was incredibly moving. It was a privilege to witness her resilience and to be part of her journey toward health, confidence, and joy. ” – Katie

On October 7th, Sadie had grown strong enough to be safely spayed and adopted. Her foster mom couldn’t imagine saying goodbye, and made it official by welcoming her into the family. Since then, Sadie has seamlessly integrated into her new family, spending time with her NHS alumni brother, exploring new places, and getting lots of extra treats. She is growing up healthy and loved!
Sadie’s mom said, if Sadie could talk, she would say “Thank you for believing in me when I needed it most. Because of your kindness, I’ve been given a second chance, a chance to run, play, and feel safe. To the incredible community who supported me, the compassionate clinic team who cared for me, and the dedicated staff who never gave up on me, thank you. Without your love and commitment, I wouldn’t be living the joyful, healthy life I have today. You helped me find my spark again, and for that, I’ll be forever grateful.”
Thanks to you, Sadie and her siblings got the chance to heal and grow up healthy and strong. A gift today can make a second chance at life possible.
