SQUEAK – Squeak is a great example of pets that come to us for a second chance in life, and we got her the medical care that she desperately needed.
Squeak was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and had some major dental issues. We had to perform an in house dental to help her teeth and allow her to be able to eat comfortably. She was known as her previous owner to be a shy cat, who was not a large fan of affection.
We saw a complete turnaround of Squeak with her new family. She may have had to spend a lot of time at the shelter, but it landed her in the most perfect home.
At thirteen years old now, Squeak wants to just relax and enjoy what life has to offer.
Squeak stayed at our shelter back in 2017 for almost 2 years. She became an Angel pet for her hypothyroidism and various medical needs.
She is under the care of VCA Feline and takes her medication so that her hypothyroidism is under control.
Squeak has learned to habitually ask for her daily grooming, she sits just waiting to be brushed.
“We brush her daily in the mornings and we joke that she goes to the salon, because she places herself in the same position every morning and awaits the brush.”
Even at thirteen, she still is interested in cat toys. Her cat mom tries to get her to play as often as possible as it allows her to get some exercise being an indoor only cat.
“She’s just a love- she has grown into an incredibly affectionate kitty and wants to be with us all the time- which I adore. In fact, in the evenings if we sit down on the couch to watch a movie, she’s on my lap in a millisecond and will sleep for hours like that (until my legs fall asleep!).”
Her mom shared that they recently discovered Squeaks may have cancer. They aren’t sure how much longer they will have with her, but they want to make sure they make the best of it. They want to give her the best life and the most love they possibly can in their time with her.
