If your pet is experiencing a life-threatening crisis that requires immediate hospital attention A few local options to consider are:

Urgent care should be sought for issues that need immediate medical attention but aren’t necessarily life-threatening. Here are a few options you can consider:

In some cases, you might find yourself in an unexpected, difficult situation in which you may need to consider an emergency medical surrender. We're committed to ensuring your pet gets the help they need. Please keep in mind, that once we have provided the necessary medical care and the animal is fully recovered, they will be made available to the public for adoption 

If you're looking to schedule a spay/neuter appointment for a TNR cat, here's what to do! First, your cat colony will need to be registered by reaching out to our Community Programs Manager at (775) 856-2000 ext. 337 or via email at communitycats@nevadahumanesociety.org. Once your colony is registered, give our clinic a call at (775) 856-2000 ext. 312 to schedule the appointment. For any questions or extra help, feel free to contact our Community Programs Manager. 

For our Carson City Campus, please call 775-887-2171 to inquire about scheduling a TNR appointment.

We understand waiting for the next available appointment can feel frustrating, especially since it's such an important part of your pet's health and happiness. While you're waiting for an appointment with our clinic, you can also explore other options. Look into other veterinary clinics or animal welfare organizations in your area that offer low-cost or subsidized spay/neuter services. Like us, many local organizations (such as Options Veterinary or the SPCA-NN) also provide affordable options or even financial assistance programs for pet owners in need.  

We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting spay/neuter appointments for owned cats at our NHS Reno Clinic for Washoe County residents!

This is an exciting step for our organization in re-opening spay/neuter services to our community.

Cost is $80.00/cat. Package includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, nail trim, and pain medications to go home.

While we've recently had to increase our feline spay/neuter prices due to rising costs within the veterinary industry, we continue to be the most affordable clinic option in Reno. We don’t limit appointments based on income requirements, and our clinic services are open to everyone in Washoe County.

Book online – appointments are limited and offered on a first come first serve, with appointments opening on the 4th Tuesday of the month for the following month.

Spay/neuter appointments are held on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Our vaccine prices vary based on the type you need.

For Rabies, DHPP, and FVRCP, it's $15 each, Bordetella is $20, and CIV is $35.

Microchips are tiny electronic chips that get injected under your pet's skin. When scanned, they reveal your pet's ID number, which is linked to your contact info. So, if your fur baby ever goes missing, they can be tracked back to you. Unlike collars, microchips don't fall off and they're the only permanent way to ID your pet. Plus, it's no more painful than a regular shot for your pet, and no anesthesia is needed. Handy, right?

When it comes to microchipping your furry friend, it costs $20. It's a small price to pay for the peace of mind knowing your pet has a permanent form of identification, ready to bring them back home if they ever wander off. 

Nope! No need to worry about income requirements to use our veterinary services here at NHS. We're here to help all pets and their owners, regardless of income level.

If you're in Reno and have scheduled an appointment, our vaccine and microchip clinic is located at 2825 Longley Lane, Unit B on Sundays from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. or Wednesdays from 9:30-11:30 am. Remember, appointments are a must, so be sure to schedule prior. In Carson City, you can find us at 549 Airport Road every Thursday 1 p.m. -2:30 pm. Again, appointments are required. We're excited to welcome you and your furry friends! 

For your Reno vaccine/microchip appointment, head over to the Education Room inside the Nevada Humane Society Campus, situated between the Nevada Humane Society and the WCRAS building (2825 Longley Lane). For a Carson City appointment, we offer a convenient drive-through clinic located at 549 Airport Road. No need to leave your car! Just follow our signs and traffic cones to the back lot, where our team will assist you. Our staff will then vaccinate your pets and return them to your vehicle. Appointments are required.  

For spay/neuter appointments, please refer to your email appointment confirmation for information on when and where to bring your pet for their appointment. Our clinic is located at 2825 Longley Lane, Unit B. We're looking forward to seeing you and your furry pals! Appointments are required.  

We do not offer full veterinarian services, but we do provide some important ones! You can schedule an appointment for our low-cost vaccine clinic and microchipping. Also, if you ever need to discuss owner-requested euthanasia, we can help you too.
