If you are struggling to feed your pet, we are here to help! We are committed to supporting pets and their people in our community, keeping pets in loving, happy, safe homes. Our Pet Pantry program helps Northern Nevada families in need of pet food for their furry friends.
In 2024, we distributed 199,080 pounds of pet food to families and community cat caretakers, which helps keep pets with their families and out of shelters!
We are always in need of pet food donations! If you’d like to contribute food to our Pet Pantry, please bring your donations to either of our locatoins: Reno (2825 Longley Lane) or Carson City (549 Airport Road). Or, you can order pet food from our Pet Pantry Wishlist and it will be delivered directly to our door. All dry and wet, non-prescription food in its original packaging can be donated.
Our commitment to supporting Northern Nevada pets and families extends to those facing hardship. Through the Pet Pantry Program, those struggling to feed their pets can receive the supplemental pet food support they need. If you are a resident of Washoe County or Carson City and need supplemental pet food, we encourage you to participate in our Pet Pantry program. Simply visit either our Reno or Carson City campuses during business hours, complete the application, and get registered to receive free monthly pet food. If you are caring for a community cat colony and need pet food assistance, please visit the Community Cats page for registration and application.

I’m so very grateful to the Nevada Humane Society for all they do! For a number of years, I’ve been feeding close to 16 community cats and I have two dogs as well, and their Pet Pantry program has been a real life-saver!
