Surrender Information
At Nevada Humane Society, we cherish the lifelong bonds between people and their pets. However, we also understand that sometimes you may face challenges that make it hard to keep your pet. Whether you're dealing with financial strain, an impending housing crisis, or animal behavioral issues, there are numerous avenues to explore that can help you keep your furry friend by your side. - Options for Rehoming Your Pet
If you need to surrender your pet:
Step 1: Please call and leave a message with our Animal Help Desk at (775) 856-2000 ext. 200 or contact us via email animalhelp@nevadahumanesociety.org. We will return your inquiry within 24 hours.
Step 2: Once ownership/residency is confirmed by our team, you will complete the surrender application.
Step 3: Our team will review the application and determine the best pathway for the animal.
Step 4: A follow-up call will be made, resources will be provided, and – if necessary – an appointment will be scheduled with our Admissions Team.
