Free Surgeries Made Possible By Funding From:

Nevada Humane Society is thrilled to offer free spay/neuter surgeries for pets living in Washoe County, made possible through a generous Namaste Grant from the Jason Heigl Foundation. These lifesaving appointments will take place on Saturday, December 6th and Sunday, December 7th at our Reno Campus Clinic.

These free appointments are first-come, first-served and available by registration only.

**UPDATE** as of 11/26 @ 2:45pm-- Appointments for December 6th and 7th are filling quickly, and some categories—such as certain species or pet sizes—may already be full. If you are unable to book an appointment for your pet, you may join the waitlist using the form below.

Openings may become available if someone cancels or reschedules, and we will contact waitlisted pet owners in the order received. Joining the waitlist also ensures you’ll be notified about any future free or low-cost spay/neuter opportunities at Nevada Humane Society.

What’s Included:

  • A FREE spay or neuter surgery for your dog or cat
  • A pre-surgery exam
  • Pain medication

  • A microchip (if needed)

  • Core Vaccines
  • Lots of love, kindness, & care from our medical team

Eligibility:

  • Must be a Washoe County resident

  • Pets must be healthy and 4 months of age or older

  • Limit of two pets per household

  • Dogs and cats welcome

Why This Matters:
Spaying and neutering pets saves lives. It prevents accidental litters, keeps more pets out of overcrowded shelters, and helps us build a community where every pet is valued, healthy, and loved. We’re incredibly grateful to the Jason Heigl Foundation for supporting this work through their Namaste Initiative.
