Wills and Bequests

Many people inquire about leaving a legacy to support the Nevada Humane Society. The Society receives no tax dollars and relies on donations from the public, foundations and corporations, fees from our services such as dog boarding, and interest earned from the Society’s endowment fund for operating funds.

The Society has many areas a person can designate a bequest to, some of which include:

  • Endowment Fund
  • Operating Fund
  • Specific Programs and Services (such as clinic, adoption, emergency care, etc.)
  • Building Fund

  • When leaving a bequest to the Society, it should contain the following language…”to the Nevada Humane Society Inc., located in the State of Nevada, County of Washoe, City of Sparks”.
Again, we at the Nevada Humane Society greatly appreciate your interest in our organization and your concern for animals.

Contributions, donations, gifts, bequests, legacies, devices, or transfers made to The Nevada Humane Society will be deductible for Federal Gift, Estate, or Income Tax purposes.
For more information please consult with your attorney.
