Annual Reports and Financial Information
Nevada Humane Society (NHS) is a charitable, non-profit organization and the only open-admission, no-kill shelter in the state of Nevada. We were founded in 1932 to make a difference in the lives of homeless pets in Washoe County. In 2007, NHS became a no-kill shelter, creating and sustaining a no-kill community in Washoe County. In 2014, NHS expanded efforts to include Carson City. Today, more than 100,000 animals have been placed into loving homes since 2007 and NHS continues to grow, maintaining its status as one of the top communities in the country for saving homeless pets.
NHS meets all 20 of the comprehensive and demanding charity accountability standards of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Wise Giving Alliance and was awarded the inaugural BBB accredited charity seal in 2014. NHS is also featured on Guidestar and Charity Navigator. Recently, NHS was awarded four out of four stars on Charity Navigator!
